James Michel Foundation will present Seychelles' Blue Carbon Roadmap at COP28
The James Michel Foundation will be at the UNFCCC COP28 to present the Seychelles Blue Carbon Roadmap in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Dr. Ameer Ebrahim, Chief Scientific Advisor to the James Michel Foundation, has been invited to present an overview of the Seychelles Blue Carbon Roadmap during the ‘Nature, Land use and Oceans’ side event at the Seychelles pavilion (Blue Zone) on Saturday 9th December 2023, 09:00hrs.
The Seychelles Blue Carbon Roadmap is a final deliverable from a project developed by the James Michel Foundation, in collaboration with Deakin University’s Blue Carbon Lab in Australia, and funded by the Seychelles Conservation and Climate Adaptation Trust.
The project explored Seychelles’ Blue Carbon Future and the roadmap, which was completed in June 2022, presents a long-term plan to establish a nationwide evidence-based program, geared towards the protection and restoration of Blue Carbon ecosystems for Climate Change mitigation and adaptation.
Presently, the Government of Seychelles is in the process of preparing the Blue Carbon Policy for Seychelles and this roadmap will be used to guide the policy.
